The National Information Resources Service (NIRS) oversees management for information resources of central government institutions based on integrated computing centers. Led by Director Kim Myung Hee, NIRS has begun its organizationwide digital transformation. Kim has proposed three management principles: business innovation through process improvement and utilization of new technologies, technology leadership enabling government bodies and the IT industry to respond to the Industry 4.0 initiative, and customer satisfaction of the public and government departments with reliable egovernment services.
She has presented a vision to enable an intelligent cloud computing center, creating a seamless service environment across the Daejeon and Kwangju datacenters. Kim has also designed the “”Development Plan 2022 TF”” road map, which includes major digital transformation technologies, such as IoT, mobile and media data, and VR, plus evolving into an AI datacenter that minimizes human intervention. Kim has initiated G-cloud expansion, established a cyber breach response system based on AI, and realized scientific administration through a government big data common platform. Kim is also leading the transition from an individual equipment-focused model, to a visual integrated monitoring system focused on service. NIRS is carrying out reorganization into technically specialized groups and providing information literacy education customized for employees.
