The pandemic may have disrupted physical events, but technology has kept us going. Hosted on IDC Arena, the IDC DX India Summit 2020 happened last October 16 as it featured key insights from leading vendors and recognized digital leaders in the country. In particular, the IT providers are AWS, Dell Technologies, Druva, and Poly to name a few.
Vasant Rao, IDC India’s Managing Director, opened with a keynote address about the Champions of the Digital Arena. After that, Sharath Srinivasamurthy, IDC India’s Research Director – Enterprise Solutions and ICT Practices, spoke about Winning Today and Leading in the New Normal. He noted that enterprises globally as well as in India are in different stages of recovery based on the maturity of technology adoption. In their journey of resilience, he highlighted that organizations should focus on three areas based on the CEO’s agenda. Specifically, these are Future of Customers and Consumers, Future of Work, and Future of Industry Ecosystems.
The Role of DX in Resiliency
For the Future of Enterprise IT, Ashish Dhawan, Managing Director, Enterprise, India & South Asia for AWS, explored the potential for transformation that comes with cloud adoption. Subsequently, he discussed how some of the world’s leading enterprises were able to increase agility and innovation through cloud technologies. On the other hand, Manish Gupta, Sr. Director & General Manager for Data Centre & Compute Solutions, Dell Technologies India, talked about Creating Value in a Digital World. To illustrate, he stated that emerging technologies are redefining how organizations build and deploy software. Furthermore, he noted that they are modernizing and simplifying their infrastructure.
Poly’s Chief Technology Officer & Director, Sales Engineering, Asia Pacific Bill Zeng tackled Hybrid Working as an imperative in an enterprise’s digitization strategy. To add, Dell Technologies’ Director & General Manager, Data Protection Solutions Ripu Bajwa presented the 2020 Global Data Protection Index Snapshot. Besides from these sessions, there were three invite-only digital roundtables. Firstly, AWS examined the Future of Customer Experience with Emerging Technologies. Secondly, Druva and AWS looked into Sustaining Business Continuity with Data Resiliency. Finally, Indusface and AWS probed about Securing the Application: Pivotal in Enabling the Digital Journey.
Overview of IDC DX India Awards Winners
To wrap up the summit, the India winners of the IDC Digital Transformation Awards (DXa) were announced. These organizations distinguished themselves with notable and measurable success in the execution of their organization’s digital transformation (DX) initiatives. In summary, there were 16 winning organizations across 10 categories. They are led by this year’s top winners, Piramal Glass and Ather Energy.
For their custom-developed smart manufacturing platform to gain real-time manufacturing Insights, Piramal Glass has been recognized as the Digital Transformer. Additionally, for their Smart, Connected, Electric vehicle charging network AtherGrid, Ather Energy was named as the Digital Disruptor. Other winners include MG Motor India Pvt Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Mahindra and Mahindra Limited among others. Undoubtedly, the IDC DX India Summit 2020 celebrated technology-enabled resilience.
