The IDC DX Taiwan Summit 2020 was the only physical event out of all the country summits. To ensure the safety of all the attendees, health protocols and guidelines were strictly observed. Held last September 30 in Taipei, it featured talks from technology vendors like Tealium and Palo Alto Networks. Moreover, the IDC DX Awardees from Taiwan were recognized. In short, they are considered as this year’s DX pioneers who successfully transformed and influenced the market through digital and disruptive technologies.
To kickstart the event, IDC Taiwan’s General Manager Jiang Fangyun delivered a keynote speech with the theme of Digital Transformation in the New Normal. Specifically, she emphasized the need for Taiwanese companies to respond quickly, build resilience, and accelerate innovation. Afterward, there was a panel discussion about Reimagining Taiwan. It was facilitated by IDC Taiwan’s Senior Market Analyst, Cai Yizhen. Thus, profound exchanges between Microsoft Taiwan’s Bian Zhixiang, Lite-On Technology’s Chen Guangzhong, and FarEasy Telecom Information Technology Group’s Shu Yipeng occurred.
Then, Su Shijie, Sales Lead, North Asia, Tealium, delivered a presentation on the Customer Data Platform. In particular, he talked about how it changes the way companies interact with customers. Finally, Zhan Hongji, Information Security Consultant, Palo Alto Networks Taiwan, ended with a speech on Information Security. In particular, he did an in-depth demonstration of their new solution, the Cortex XSOAR.
However, the highlight of the IDC DX Taiwan Summit 2020 was the introduction of the country’s DXa winners. Competition in the Taiwan market this year was fierce as the Asia/Pacific region received more than 1,280+ nominations. As a result, eleven awards were given to deserving organizations. “Although global industries have been affected by the epidemic this year, it is clear that the epidemic has highlighted the importance of transformation,” said Jiang Fangyun. In summary, the top winners from Taiwan are Carpost (Digital Disruptor) and Cathay Life Insurance (Digital Transformer). The other winners are E.Sun Bank, Taiwan Life Insurance, and Taishin Bank among others.
On the other hand, the National Health Insurance Administration Ministry of Health and Welfare became the recipient of the Special Award for Resiliency. NHIA implemented best practices in using their Medicloud system to combating COVID-19. Indeed, Taiwan’s successful in-person summit is a testament to the country’s leading role in digitally-powered pandemic responses.
